NYC and Mary Poppins 1/3/09.

Brian got me tickets to go see Mary Poppins for Christmas this year, which was totally awesome considering it is one of my favorite movies of all time. Well, we had a great time! The play was great....everything I expected and more! I wish we could go again. NYC hasn't changed much since the last time we were there- crowded, pushy people, etc. It was of course freezing and windy. But...still great to see the tree and Rockefeller Center all lit up and looking beautiful. We also went to a great Italian restaurant and ate way too much. Last but not least, to finish off a perfect day...we got into a fender bender and smashed up Brian's' car. Oh well! Nothing is perfect. But I consider it a souvenir...Brian, not so much. It's getting fixed tomorrow so everything will be all better and we can remember our trip with more pleasant reminders. Anyway, if you're thinking about going to see a show, I highly recommend Mary Poppins.

Christmas Day

This Christmas was, by far, one of the best I've had in years. Isabella has been fascinated with all things involving Christmas since the day after Thanksgiving when I made Brian go outside and string the lights and put out all of my Christmas chockies on the front lawn. Anyway, the magic of Christmas is truly in the eyes of a child. Of course we talked about Jesus and what the days was really about (we even had to bake a birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus with the WHOLE family), but the anticipation of Santa and the magic that surrounds that was just amazing to experience once again. All she wanted was a vacuum cleaner as she proudly announced to everyone who asked...including the Santa at the mall who looked at me with a puzzled face.

Needless to say, we had a great Christmas. Henry was of course adorable and fiesty as always! And Isabella truly enjoyed every single minute, every toy, every carol (if I have to hear Enya's Mistletoe song one more time I'm going to puke---thanks Annette!), and every cookie. I wish it didn't have to go by so fast. Wouldn't it be great to experience this kind of magic and love more than one day a year? But I guess that's what makes it so special. Anyway, God Bless and I hope everyone enjoyed the same kind of love that we did this Christmas Day.

Welcome to My Blog

So this is my first official blog post and I really have no idea what I'm doing. A friend of mine suggested creating a blog...seems like the thing to do nowadays...so I figured I'd give it a try. Anyway, it's two days after Christmas and I have a few minutes to myself. It's pretty unbelievable given that it's usually pretty crazy around here. But Henry's napping and Brian is out with Bella so here I am, sitting on the couch trying to figure this out. We'll see how it goes!
